Shanna Moakler is really sorry. During a recent appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, the former beauty pageant queen referred to Khloe Kardashian as a "donkey." Tweeted Khloe in response: "Who is shana moakler??? I have no idea who this girl is but I guess she is talking about me. Talk on honey...I can care less LOL." We're shocked by this whole thing. We had no idea anyone watched The Wendy Williams Show! Moakler actually apologized immediately, Tweeting to Khloe: "You are right. Carrie Prejean, aka Miss California USA (yes, apparently there is a difference between Miss California and Miss California USA, which is more information I ever thought I'd know about these pageants) has filed a lawsuit against two pageant officials.You may remember that Prejean caused an uproar back in April when moron Perez Hilton asked her a question about gay marriage at the MIss USA Pageant. Prejean was fired a couple of months later for violating her contract and not appearing at several pageant events. Prejean says that pageant officials Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler really got rid of her because of what she said during the show and because she talked a lot about God.Donald Trump hasn't made a statement about this yet, but I'm sure he will. A lawyer for former co-executive director of the Miss California USA organization Shanna Moakler is responding to dethroned Miss California Carrie Prejean's lawsuit. In the lawsuit, filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior court against Miss California USA officials, including Moakler, Prejean accuses the organization of religious discrimination among other things. "On Ms. Moakler's behalf, I can say unequivocally that Ms. Prejean's lawsuit is without merit," Moakler's lawyer, Melvin Avanzado, told "The Insider." "More importantly, as everyone who watched or read her public statements is well aware, Ms. Prejean's unfortunate and bigoted statements are responsible for any public humiliation or damages to her reputation that she has claimed to have suffered. Ms. Moakler strenuously denies that she did anything wrong and looks forward to proving that in a court of law," Avanzado went on to say. According to Carrie Prejean, we now know what Jesus would do. He'd exploit his religion like Denise Richards exploits her children, ignore the concept of forgiveness and seek as much money and retribution as humanly possible. Following her June 10 dethroning as Miss California, Prejean has filed a lawsuit against pageant officials Shanna Moakler and Keith Lewis. As first reported by TMZ, the suit doesn't name Donald Trump (even though he's the one that fired her), and it accuses Moakler and Lewis of religious discrimination, defamation, public disclosure of private facts, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent infliction of emotional distress. The final accusation is our favorite: Prejean is suing two people for accidentally hurting her feelings. According to Carrie, Miss California officials "fabricated a fraudulent list of some 50 public appearances allegedly missed by Prejean which they released to the media in order to justify her termination as Miss California USA" and tried to "set up Prejean to have her dismissed as Miss California USA by asking her to do a Playboy photo shoot for $120,000." There are some holes in this story, of course. For example, we've actually seen the emails between Lewis and Prejean. It's simply untrue that Miss California asked her to pose in Playboy. (Also, Carrie writes like a fourth grader.) Trump cited Prejean's insistence of disobeying her contract as the basis for her firing. It seemed like a reasonable decision, considering Prejean posted topless on two different occasions and lied about it in her Miss California contract. She also granted interview requests without first running them by her employer. A few years ago, Shanna Moakler celebrated her separation from her then-husband, Travis Barker, by throwing a divorce party, complete with a cake depicting a wife throwing a husband down a flight of stairs. Charming! Of course, everyone knows that Moakler's divorce party was a bit of a joke, as Moakler and Barker have since reconciled and split about 8 bazillion times (and are reportedly currently together). But Moakler is not the only one who chose to celebrate the demise of her marriage with a shindig: as Ruby Warrington reports in today's Times of London, "Divorce parties are becoming big news, and range in style from discreet intimate gatherings to hen-style nights of hell-raising." Warrington explores the growing divorce party industry, which is already cruising at top tacky speeds: with such craptacular divorce party paraphernalia as "wedding-ring coffins, Just Divorced L-plates, "stressticles" (stress balls shaped like, yep, you guessed it...) and plastic ball-and-chains." In short, the Divorce Party is just like the Bachelorette Party, only flipped. Divorce parties range from intimate gatherings with close friends to celebratory vacations to "separation celebrations" wherein the unhappy couple chooses to say goodbye to their relationship in a celebratory manner, surrounded by family and friends. "The life you create as a couple is also about your friends and community," life coach Larah Davis tells Warrington, "I wanted to be upfront about everything, so people wouldn't feel as if they had to walk on eggshells around us. You need people answering your calls at a time like this. And we still had a business to run, so it was vital we were able to move on with integrity." That's all well and good, I suppose, but isn't it a bit awkward for your family and friends to invite them to a party celebrating your divorce? It just seems a bit...off for some reason. What if your family is really upset about the separation? What if your friends feel like they are being forced to "celebrate" an occasion that bums them out quite a bit? Understandably, your divorce is incredibly personal and if one feels that they are in a place to say, "Hey, we're both happy, this didn't work, let's all just move on," that's one thing, but it seems that in all of the celebration, the underlying reality that this is a partnership that has failed is sort of tossed about as "Eh, oh well," which is a bit sad, if you think about it. Then again, if one leaves a really terrible relationship, it stands to reason that one would want to celebrate her new found freedom, and so I suppose the whole divorce party phenomenon makes a bit of sense in that respect. And it also makes sense that people wouldn't want the "Oh, no, divorce!" cloud hanging over their heads every time they speak to loved ones, and a celebration, a means to say, "Hey, I'm alright, things are going to be okay," can help to brush that cloud away. Everyone grieves in different ways, everyone celebrates in different ways. And I suppose for many people, the easiest way to move on is to try to combine the two, saying goodbye to the past with goofy cakes and party favors all while knowing, deep down, that once the farewell party ends, the future begins.
