Kendra Disses Dancing Kate Gosselin

Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett has no desire to step into fellow reality TV mom Kate Gosselin's shoes. Well, her dancing shoes, anyway. On NBC's Today show yesterday, Wilkinson (E!'s Kendra, The Girls Next Door) said, "You know how Kate is on Dancing with the Stars? I just told my publicist today, if I were asked to go on Dancing with the Stars, I don't think I would do it." But it's not a not a disdain for fabulous footwork and fringed ballgowns keeping the E! star, 24, away from ABC's reality competition -- it's her 3-month-old son, Hank Baskett IV. Wilkinson explained, "I would definitely say no to it because I'm that mom...I want to be there every step. I know I'm here (in New York) for three days, but I don't want to spend three months away from my baby. I couldn't." Wilkinson also danced delicately, so to speak, around how Gosselin, 34, continued keeping her children on the air for years (on the TLC series Jon & Kate Plus 8) -- whereas Kendra plans to end the production (she assured on Today, "it will end one day") before Hank heads to kindergarten. E! reports this isn't the first time Wilkinson has brought up Gosselin's parenting choices; she told them last year, "I feel bad for the kids. If we do have a show, none of that's going to happen...I want to be able to spend quality time with my child and not really give the world too much." Wilkinson quickly realized her remarks on the Today show might inadervtently start a reality-TV-mom feud (okay, 'fess up, whose side would you be on?) and took to her Twitter to apologize, writing, "didn't mean to bash Kate just meant to say I hate leaving my baby..lol. Sorry if ppl took it that way." Wilkinson may not be the only one with some apologizing to do, as US Weekly reports that DWTS ballroom pro Mark Ballas had less than glowing insights about Gosselin. Ballas, 23, said of this season's most talked-about contestant, "she's pretty, you know, standoffish, which is kind of weird." We all remember Kendra as the outspoken, always smiling playmate from the hit reality show The Girls Next Door, but she openly tells Ok! that after giving birth she became completely depressed. “I never brushed my hair, my teeth or took a shower,” she confesses. “I looked in the mirror one day and was totally depressed … A couple of times, I even said, ‘I just have nothing to live for.’” Kendra, 24, admits the most difficult part was moving from sunny California to Indianapolis for her husband Hank Baskett — a wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts. “It was new to me — the snow and the cold,” she says. “I love running and hiking. I had a hard time being trapped inside. I’d look outside and think how much I wished I could go to the beach again. Now we found a brand-new house in Tarzana, Calif., and it’s beautiful.
