Chris Brown Couldn t Be More Happier with Comeback
Source: Limelife Added: 1 day ago
The grammar, seriously. And what comeback? Can somebody get Chris Brown some help? Not even a media coach, just a grammar tutor would work. Chris Brown has taken to Twitter to gush to fans how thrilled he is that his career has turned back around after the Rihanna ridiculousness that happened last year. How happy is Chris Brown? What he says, dear friends, is the English equivalent of his "Sorry I couldn't come to your country, Europe" geographical faux pas a few months ago.
Chris Brown s Star Back on the Rise
Source: Daily Blabber Added: 2 day ago
This week, singer-actor Chris Brown continued his slow but steady climb back into the public's good graces. Brown, 21, is both an executive producer and star of the crime film Takers, currently the #1 movie in America. It's been only a year and a half since Brown brutally assaulted girlfriend Rihanna, a charge for which he pleaded guilty. But things seem to be going quite well for him now. In June, he made headlines with his emotional Michael Jackson tribute at the BET Awards. In July, he reached half-a-million Twitter followers. He's begun to work on a new album with hot hip-hop star Drake, and his new music video is scheduled to premiere this month. Does anybody else find this to be a little messed up? It's not that we think people don't deserve second chances. But we're amazed at how eager everyone is to give one to Brown. Chris Brown committed a serious and repulsive crime, bruising and bloodying his girlfriend so badly that her famous face was unrecognizable. He served zero jail time for this offense. Yet compare the way the press treats Brown to the way they treat Lindsay Lohan. Lohan's crime wasn't violent; it boiled down to being selfish and entitled. But she was sent to jail, and now her career and reputation are in ruins. Nobody is rooting for Lohan's comeback the way they seem to be rooting for Brown's. Want another example? Charlie Sheen was arrested on domestic violence charges in December, allegedly holding a knife to his wife's throat, strangling her and threatening to kill her. But his career hasn't suffered in the slightest: Two and a Half Men is still super-popular, and Sheen is the highest-paid actor on TV. Oh, and thanks to a plea deal, he got no jail time. Let's compare Sheen to a female star who's had legal troubles: Amy Winehouse has been arrested multiple times, usually for suspected drug use or public brawling. In January, she pleaded guilty to assault and disorderly behavior, after punching and kicking a theater manager who asked her to move her seat. This week, she showed up at a Libertines concert and was heckled so badly by the audience that she retreated backstage. Winehouse and Lohan aren't blameless by a long shot, but their crimes are petty compared to what Brown and Sheen did. It's been said that Hollywood loves a comeback -- but maybe that's only true for male stars. It seems like famous men can commit despicable acts in their spare time, and we don't begrudge them their success, while if a famous woman's personal life is a wreck, her public image suffers irreparably. Britney Spears doesn't have so much as a mug shot to her name, but she may never live down the damage that her infamous nervous breakdown did to her reputation. Contrast that with all the misbehaving male stars who've successfully come back -- Rob Lowe (caught on tape having sex with an underage girl), Robert Downey Jr. (multiple stints in rehab) -- or those whose career never suffered at all -- David Hasselhoff (videotaped in a drunken stupor by his own daughters), Alec Baldwin (caught on tape screaming at his child). We're all very forgiving when it comes to our favorite celebs -- unless they're women, in which case we're just waiting for them to screw up again. And while men can practically get away with murder, women have to be wary of their reputation at all times. Yes, there are women who have come back from the edge -- but it's a steeper climb. And you'd better believe that a woman who did to an innocent person what Chris Brown did to Rihanna wouldn't have a whole lot of Twitter fans. So it will be interesting to see what happens to Mel Gibson, who is being accused of felony domestic assault (and has been caught on tape being a raving, racist, misogynist lunatic). It seems that he's done enough to get himself ostracized from Hollywood for life. But given the respective success of Chris Brown and Charlie Sheen, maybe Gibson's reputation will emerge in tact. After all, Hollywood loves a comeback. Right, Lindsay? Do you think there's a double standard when it comes to celebrities' bad behavior? Chime in below! Like This? Typically wax figures of celebrities look more like inbred versions of their famous inspirations, but the latest addition to Madame Tussauds in Washington D.C. is so spot on I had to double check it was actually a mannequin. From the hair to the clothes to the face (always the dodgiest feature), Rihanna's replica is so realistic I shudder to think what might happen if Chris Brown ever lays eyes on it.

Michael Jackson s Kids Set to Attend School
Source: iVillage Added: 7 day ago
Michael Jackson's eldest children, 13-year-old Prince and 12-year-old Paris, will soon experience what so many kids are used to: the first day of school. According to Access Hollywood, the siblings will be attending The Buckley School in the San Fernando Valley starting on Wednesday. The private school (where the tuition ranges from $25,769 to $29,010 per student per year)has some other famous alums, including Kim Kardashian, Alyssa Milano, Matthew Perry, Rashida Jones, Laura Dern, Nicolette Sheridan, and Paris and Nicky Hilton. While TMZ.com reports that Prince and Paris were anxious to go to school (a source close to the family says Prince wanted to have "a social experience"), Jackson's youngest child, 8-year-old Blanket, will continue to be home schooled. Their grandmother Katherine Jackson, who has full custody of the children, allegedly feels that Blanket is too young to venture out in the world and won't attend private school just yet.
